Description

The comparison of π+ and π- scattering near the πN(3.3) resonance is a powerful tool for the study of the nuclear structure since the π+ (π-) interacts three times more strongly with a proton (neutron) than with a neutron (proton). The authors have measured π+ and π- elastic and inelastic scattering on 13C through the πN(3.3) resonance (148, 180, 230 MeV), using the πM1 beam and pion spectrometer. (Auth.)
