In late 1990, the American Petroleum Institute's Training and Development Committee formed a multi-company Task Force to address the needs of industry in complying with federally mandated training in the most efficient manner. This paper summarizes the work of the Task Force and presents a preview of the scope of the Guidelines, scheduled for release in late 1992
