Experimental determination of the neutron sensitivity function of a dosimeter

Description
The bombardment of a thick beryllium target by charged particles produces a neutron field which varies with angle and a gamma component which is isotropic. Differences in detector response at two positions in these fields are due to neutron alone. Such differences were used along with neutron energy distributions measured by time-of-flight techniques to iteratively unfold the neutron response of a Mg-Ar ionization chamber as a function of neutron energy
