Equipment for detecting fission products
Description
A carrier gas charged with fission products is taken into a cylindrical precipitation vessel with a bottle-neck opening. There is an electromagnet on the bottle-neck which deflects the ionised solid fission products caesium and rubidirm to a detector. The β and/or γ radiation emitted by the precipitated particles is measured with a detector. The wall of the precipitation vessel consists of non-ferromagnetic material in the area of the electromagnet. The measurement is still possible in the presence of metal vapour (sodium as coolant) and/or the presence of water vapour. (DG) 891 HP

Ein mit Spaltprodukten beladenes Traegergas wird in ein zylindrisches, flaschenhalsartig auslaufends Praezipitationsgefaess gefuehrt. Auf dem Flaschenhals sitzt eine Magnetspiele, die die ionisierten festen Zerfallsprodukte Cs und Rd auf einen Detektor lenkt. Die von den praezipitierten Teilchen ausgehende β -und/oder γ-Strahlung wird mit einem Detektor gemessen. Die Wandung des Praezipitationsgefaesses besteht im Bereich der Magnetspule aus nichtferromagnetischem Material. Die Messung ist auch in Anwesenheit von Metalldaempfen (Na als Kuehlmittel) und/oder von Wasserdampf moeglich. (DG)Files
