A method for the calculation of power distribution inside a fuel assembly in WWER-440 type nuclear reactors and its application during core design
Description
A computer program PROFI was developed at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, Hungary, for the calculation of power distribution within fuel elements. The new code takes into account the temperature feedback effect, the temperature and burnup distribution within a fuel assembly. The new code, the algorithm used and the approximations are described. Some calculation results are presented and compared with those obtained by other codes. The practical advantages of the new code are pointed out. (R.P.) 7 refs.; 9 figs
