Recoil nucleus energy for particle channeling in a monocrystal and its temperature dependence

Creators

Description

The paper delas with the problem of evaluating the value of energy loss of a channeling particle due to the kinetic energy of recoil nuclei and determining the effect of these losses on the particle movement. Dechannelling and energy losses as compared with the total energy are neglected. Consideration is carried out in the non-relativistic approximation. The conducted consideration shows that particle channeling in a crystal can slightly chanae the angle spectrum in the diverging beam but it would not result in essential decrease of the average angular divergence of the beam. Accountancy of the recoil energy brought to the lattice nuclei during channeling does not decrease transverse energy of the particle and, therefore, does not permit to count on beam cooling due to this effect
