Site selection for disposal of radioactive wastes from nuclear power plants

Description

Basic data on and prerequisites for the disposal of solid and solidified radioactive wastes from nuclear power plants on Czechoslovak territory are given. A three-tier elimination method is described of selecting the most suitable locality. The method is described in detail of multi-criterion analysis which was used for testing the three-tier elimination method. The results obtained using the two methods showed good agreement. The preference of the geologic criterion is discussed in selecting a disposal site in Czechoslovakia. (author)
