Advances in pressurized water reactor uranium utilization

Description
A joint nuclear industry and government program has been formulated to develop methods of increasing the energy extraction from each kilogram of uranium utilized in pressurized water reactors. These programs are in their demonstration phases at operating reactors throughout the United States. Seven major areas of development are expected to yield a 25 percent reduction in uranium ore requirements by the year 1990 and each of these program areas is explained
