Description

The purpose of the present paper is to evaluate creep damages in the power plant materials. In particular the wavelet transform has been utilized to analyze the frequencies in the ultrasonic echoes. This method allows one to do signal processing in the time-frequency plane and is well adapted to localize in time both high and low frequencies and does not introduce interference terms. In this study, we will investigate several creep damaged specimens and analyze its ultrasonic echoes. The wavelet transform will be briefly introduced with emphasis on the aspects which make it suitable for our application.
