Structural member having excellent resistance to neutron irradiation-embrittleness, austenitic steel used for the same, and usage thereof
Description
Surfaces of members being used in contact with water and under neutron irradiation are formed with an austenitic steel containing at least one of Pd and Pt. Since Pt or Pd is an element which occludes hydrogen solid-solidified entirely in a mother phase of an alloy of the present invention, Pt or Pd, if added, couples, in the grains, with hydrogen generated or intruded in the steel, to suppress diffusion to the grain boundary. According to the present invention, irradiation-emblittleness due to grain boundary hydrogen emblittleness of structural components and equipments used in a circumstance under irradiation of fast neutron of 1023n/m2 or more and being in contact with water at high temperature or at high temperature and high pressure water can be improved.
