On the resonant three wave coupling

  • 1. Trieste Univ. (Italy)

Description

The problem of time evolution of coherent interaction involving three longitudinal plasma waves is considered. The aim of the paper is to include in the theoretical solutions of the coupled mode equations interference phenomena involving the stationary part of the perturbation in the particle distribution function. For a simple plasma model the expressions of two time dependent coupling factors are given showing also the harmonic character of the third wave involved. (author)
