Experimental investigation of cesium spectrum by multiphoton ionization

Description

An experimental study of perturbation of the atomic spectrum was made in a light field of 106Vxcm-1 intensity, as applied to the 6S-6F transition in caesium. The linear (quadratic in respect of intensity) dependence of variation in the energy of the 6S-6F transition on the intensity of the light field was measured. The dynamic polarizability of this transition was determined. The measured results are compared with calculated data based on perturbation theory. (author)
