Evidence for a dynamic process in track formation?
Creators

Description
The central activated region of some particle tracks in the polymer Makrofol E is analyzed, by means of chemical etching, up to a resolution of 10 A by the folding track replica method for different ions and energies. The data indicate that post-irradiation dynamic processes must be considered to gain a better understanding of track formation mechanisms and of the final distribution of damage. (author)
