Description

This paper reports that many small, offshore, oil reservoirs, either discovered but discarded due to previously existing economic conditions, or reservoirs yet to be found, can now be produced with a favorable rate of return because of a new economical concept developed to allow installation of a diver-assisted wet subsea tree in the Gulf of Mexico. A well was recently drilled from a jackup ring and completed using this tree. The concept uses simple and proven techniques and can potentially reduce costs for almost any exploratory well drilled from a jackup
