Study of low-lying collective states of nuclei with mass numbers A = 54-124 on the basis of α-particle scattering at ∼50 MeV and the 64Ni(3He,3He') reaction with the method of coupled channels and distorted waves

Description

Within the framework of the optical model the authors analyze the elastic scattering of α particles of energy ∼50 MeV by nuclei with mass numbers A = 54-124 and of 3He particles by the 64Ni nucleus using the methods of coupled channels and distorted waves. The authors determine the parameters of the multipole deformations of the low-lying collective states. The parameters of the quadrupole and octupole deformations of the potential for the 112Sn nucleus are obtained for the first time. The values of the hexadecapole deformation β4 of the potential are determined for the 94Zr and 120,124Sn nuclei. They extract information on the relation between the deformation parameters of the proton and neutron components in the low-lying collective states (21- and 31-) of nuclei with A = 90-124
