The preparation and properties of the pentakis (methoxycarbonyl)-cyclopentadienyl lanthanide
Description
The air-stable and water-soluble complexes Ln[C5(CO2Me5)]3 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb) are obtained from the reaction of HC5(CO2Me)5 with the corresponding rare-earth metal carbonates. The elemental analysis, IR, and 1H NMR are reported and discussed. In aqueous solution, their molar conductances range between 190∼240 S.cm2.mol-1, clearly indicating their ionic nature. All these show that the Ln-O coordinated bond was formed in the Ln[C5(CO2Me)5]3 complexes
