Theory of pion--4He scattering
Description
It is shown how, within the multiple scattering formalism, the dynamics of π-nucleon resonances, which are excited inside a nucleus, can be described. In the second part, the results of a calculation of π-4He scattering is presented and in this special example the type of information about the dynamics of a Δ-nuclear system which can be obtained from studying π-nucleus scattering is discussed. The relation of the calculation to other theoretical analyses of π-4He scattering is considered
