Description
Fractions of equilibrium singly charged 3He1+ ions produced by 3He2+ beams going through carbon targets were measured at 68, 99 and 130 MeV incident energies. The thickness dependence of the 3He1+/3He2+ fraction was measured, which allowed to deduce the electron capture cross section. The experimental results are compared with the first and higher order Born approximation theories. (orig.)
