Folding potential analyses of elastic and inelastic α-scattering processes and of direct (p,α) and (α,p) reactions on light nuclei

Description
Differential cross sections of elastic and inelastic α-scattering processes have been measured on some light nuclei at incident energies near 50 MeV. The experimental results together with cross section data available in the literature were analysed in a wide energy range in terms of both the optical model and the coupled channels method. The real part of the optical potential is calculated by a double-folding procedure whereas the imaginary part is expressed in terms of Fourier-Bessel functions. Furthermore some (p,α) and (α,p) reactions were reanalysed in the framework of the DWBA employing double-folded α potentials. The angular distributions of the elastic and reaction cross sections as well as the absolute magnitude of the reaction cross section could be reproduced. (author)
