Search for new particles with the DELPHI detector at LEP: standard Higgs boson and supersymmetric particles

  • 1. European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva (Switzerland)

Description

Using a sample of 10 000 Z0 collected during the 1989 run at LEP, a search for the Higgs boson predicted by the standard Electroweak theory was performed by the DELPHI collaboration, in the frame of the phenomenology predicted by Supersymmetric extensions of the standard model. In this framework the minimal supersymmetric extension to the standard model has been used as a guidance for what to search. No signal has been observed, and limits are reported on charged and neutral Higgs boson masses and on the supersymmetric partners of leptons, quarks and gauge bosons. Various analysis techniques have been used leading to the exclusion of a wide range of the parameters of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model. (R.P.) 13 refs.; 12 figs
