Solution of the multi-speed kinetic equation in the P3-approximation for cylindrical geometry
Description
The method and the program are described for solving the multiple-speed system of the neutron transport equations, expressed by means of spherical harmonics for a multi-zone infinite cylinder with an isotropic scattering indicatrix, not taking into account the thermalization. For each group the numerical solution is obtained by the mesh technique choosing a difference scheme of improved accuracy. The algorithm uses the stable method of factorization of matrix for a system of differential-difference equations. Simple iteration procedure is used to solve the multi-group problem. The SCORE-4 program is written in the ALGOL-60 language and is designed for M-222, M-220 and BESM-4 computers. The program is adopted for the M-220 computer by means of the TA-2M translator. The computation time required for one group for one interation is not greater than 15 s, when maximum number of net points being used. The program and data are introduced using punched cards.
