Unified control rod drive for research reactors

Description

Specific demands imposed on the research reactor control rod drives are considered. Unified drive structure with linear step electric motor is described. The motor structure is based on the principle of longitudinal magnetic flux movement along the armature with its repeated modulation in the working gap. In the course of the drive utilization favourable conditions for neutron physical experiments conducting are created, while a more accurate determination of introduced reactivity is provided and the task of computer utilization is promoted. An important advantage of the drive considered is a possibility of its mounting under the reactor core. At the space over the reactore is fully free and experimental and fueling operations are significantly simplified
