Hyperuricemic acute renal failure following radiotherapy in a case of lymphosarcoma

Description
A case of hyperuricemic acute renal failure following radiotherapy on lymphosarcoma is reported. Although her serum uric acid level was suddenly increased associated with anuria after rapid regression of huge abdominal tumor, acute renal failure was successfully managed by hemodialysis. The literatures concerning this complication in leukemia and lymphoma are briefly reviewed and the prophylactic procedures are discussed. (author)
