Description
The Enhanced Dynamic Wedge (EDW) uses the jaw's motion to create the sloping profiles, simulating the hard wedge with the advantage of decreasing the treatment time. To validate the system, some comparisons were performed between data measured and calculated by the treatment planning system. The gamma analysis was used to compare the beam profile fluence and treatment plane fluences. For the evaluation of the filter factor and the PDD (Percentage Depth Dose) the deviations between the results of the measurements and the expected values were analyzed. The results of the gamma analysis were between 96% and 100% for beam profile and around 100% for treatment planes. The deviations found for the filter factor and PDP were lower than 1.9%. Thus the results were satisfactory. (author)
