Creators

Description
A solid argon target was prepared at a temperature of 20 K under thoroughly controlled conditions. An intense line spectrum of light from argon atoms sputtered by keV Ar+ and Ne+ ions was observed. Some conclusions on the mechanism of excitation are drawn. (orig.)
