Waveguide-feeder system for a meson-factory linac

Description

The designing principles, calculation results and structure of the waveguide-feeder system of the second section of a meson-factory linear accelerator are described. The waveguide-feeder system consists of an excitation line (EL) and three-sector system of multichannel high-power waveguide lines. EL distributes SHF excitation power at 991 MHz. EL is made of a copper rectangular waveguide of 220x104 mm, total length 450 m, and operates in the running wave mode with stationary wave coefficient <=. 1.2. The system of multichannel waveguide lines is made of copper rectangular waveguides of 220x104 mm. A ferrite valve is installed at the end of the waveguide channel for absorbing the reflected SHF power. A model of a waveguide channel with length of 30 m has passed satisfactorily tests at input SHF power of 4.5 MW
