Model calculations of three-years' operational performance of medium power WWER-1000 fuel elements

Description
The processes taking place in a fuel element during reactor operation, which are important to its long-term behaviour, and their quantitative description with the aid of the computer code STOFFEL-1 are briefly discussed. Results of calculations of temperature distribution, stress state, dimensional and fission gas behaviour are given for a mean linear rod power of 176 W cm-1 up to a mean burnup of 45 GWd/t U of a WWER-1000 fuel element.
