Designing cities for healthy air
Description
This presentation described a six step approach used to design cities for healthy air. It included a series of photographs which depicted the following 6 steps used to enhance the downtown core of Toronto: (1) use as little land as possible, (2) connect land use and transportation, (3) reclaim existing land before starting anew, (4) build quality public spaces, (5) give people choices, and (6) incorporate green technology. It was noted that perseverance is important because the effort involves a long-term vision. figs
