Steam condensation heat transfer test with noncondensable gases on a vertical plate. 3. Noncondensable gas density effect on the condensation degradation

  • 1. Toshiba, Corp., Kawasaki, Kanagawa (Japan). Nuclear Engineering Lab.

Description

The condensation heat transfer tests with noncondensable gases on a vertical plate were experimentally conducted. As the noncondensable gases, both nitrogen and helium were used and noncondensable gas volumetric fraction was varied. Using several degradation factors proposed, the steady state condensation performance was discussed. From this, though the noncondensable gas density effect was noticed, the noncondensable gas fraction did not so promote the degradation performance within the test condition. (author)
