Stochastic penetration through an oscillating barrier

  • 1. Institute for Nuclear Research, Kyiv (Ukraine)

Description

A fission decay of highly excited nuclei is studied within a generalized Langevin approach. Nuclear fission dynamics from the ground-state position until scission is modeled by a single shape coordinate undergoing non-Markovian diffusive motion. We observed a non-monotonic dependence of the mean time of reaching the top of fission barrier on the frequency of the external periodic modulation. The observed resonant activation over the fission barrier is investigated at different strengths of memory effects in the nuclear fission dynamics.
