Evaluation of microbiological activity in the testing water loop: Influence of biocides on the service water - piping system
Description
The experimental facility used to examine microbial corrosion, consisting of two water loops, is described, and the results of 3 experiments are presented. Two media were used: service water from the Dukovany nuclear power plant and a model medium containing Pseudomonas fluorescens. The biological activity was measured on the inner surface of the piping and in the water bulk. The first experiment was aimed at the agreement of results on the two loops, the second experiment involved injection of a biocide, and the third experiment dealt with the sensitivity of the bacteria to a particular biocide level
