Neutrons and gamma transport in atmosphere by Tripoli-2 code. Energy deposit and electron current time function

Description

The Tripoli-2 computer code has been adapted to calculate, in addition to energy deposit in matter by neutrons (Kerma) the energy deposit by gamma produced in neutronic impacts and the induced recoil electron current. The energy deposit conduces at air ionization, consequently at a conductibility. This knowledge added at that of electron current permit to resolve the Maxwell equations of electromagnetic field. The study is realized for an atmospheric explosion 100 meters high. The calculations of energy deposit and electron current have been conducted as far as 2.5km

Abstract (French)

Le code TRIPOLI-2 a ete adapte pour pouvoir calculer, outre l'energie cedee a la matiere par les neutrons a des particules chargees (Kerma), celle cedee par les gamma, produits au cours d'un choc neutronique, ainsi que le courant d'electrons de recul induit. L'energie deposee conduit a une ionisation de l'air, donc a une conductibilite dont la connaissance, jointe a celle du courant d'electrons, permet de resoudre les equations de Maxwell regissant le champ electromagnetique. L'etude correspond au cas d'une explosion aerienne ayant lieu a une altitude de 100m. Le calcul du depot d'energie et des composantes radiale et polaire du courant d'electrons a ete effectue jusqu'a une distance de 2,5km
