Technology and costs of hydrogen storage

Creators

  • 1. DLR Institute for Technical Thermodynamics, Stuttgart (Germany)

Description

There are several working methods and options for storing and transporting hydrogen in both of its states, as gas or liquid, or even as metal hydride are available. The present analysis makes clear that only a quantitative consideration of favourable and unfavourable characteristics and parameters for each storage or transport method determines the advantageous application area. It cannot be asserted which hydrogen storage method will be the future route to go, but the corresponding optimum application areas can be outlined. (author). 17 refs., 1 tab
