Radiation-induced chain reactions in heterogeneous systems: First annual report for the period June 15, 1969-June 14, 1970
Description
During the first year of this work a series of preliminary experiments have been made to obtain sufficient data to design a continuous reaction system which employs radiation in the processing of heterogeneous chain reactions. Mass transport of butadiene in polyvinyl chloride has been studied over a range of temperatures. The radiation grafting of butadiene to polyvinyl chloride and the grafting of butadiene to chlorinated polyethylene has both been studied. In addition a preliminary design has been completed for a continuous reactor
