Photocatalytic activity of La-N-codoped NaTaO3 for H2 evolution from water under visible-light irradiation

Description

A La-N-codoped NaTaO3 photocatalyst was synthesized by the solid-state reaction and thermal ammonolysis method. The photocatalytic reactions showed that La-N-codoped NaTaO3 has high activity of H2 evolution (7.0 μmol h-1) and long time stability under visible-light irradiation (λ > 420 nm). DFT calculations suggested that the visible-light absorption of La-N-codoped NaTaO3 originated from the transition of electrons from the impurity states to the bottom of the conduction band.
