Radiobiology to man
Creators
Description
Harmful and useful effects are discussed of ionizing radiation on biological systems. Discussed are the radiation effects on cells, radiosensitivity of organisms, survival curves, the radiobiological paradox. Possible increase in radioresistance (oxygen effect, radioprotectives) and decrease in radioresistance (radiosensitizers) are described. The possibilities of cancer treatment with ionizing radiation are discussed. (H.S.)
