Spin-flip in the inelastic scattering of polarized protons

Description
A new technique, i.e. direct observation of polarization transfer, has been applied to the study of spin-flip in the (p,p') reaction at Esub(p)=32 MeV. A DWBA analysis of the 11B(3/2-→1/2-) transition gives 3 to 4 times more spin-flip than is observed experimentally. (Auth.)
