Coherent pion production on deuterium by medium energy neutrons

Description

Differential cross sections for the reactions nd->tπ0 and nd->3Heπ- in the neutron energy range 330-570 MeV have been measured simultaneously by detecting the recoiling nuclei. Predictions of the cross sections in the full angular region are obtained by a model independent analysis which makes use of general analytic properties of the differential cross section in the costheta-plane.
