Description
This paper discusses the history and status of the international committee on future accelerators (ICFA. A series of workshops were held aimed at the future of ICFA. The first of these was held in Tokyo in 1984. In the language reminiscent of State Department pronouncements, full and frank discussions took place. Conclusions resulting from the workshops are discussed
