A model to study the transmissivity of diagnostic holes on hohlraum

  • 1. Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Beijing (China)

Description

When diagnostic holes of a gold hohlraum are heated by the X-rays radiation from hohlraum, the plasmas produced will reduce the mount of radiation reaching detectors, from which hohlraum's temperature is determined. With careful dealing the plasmas side expansion and radial convergence, the two-dimensional phenomena is simulated by using two one-dimensional simulations. One simulates the X-ray ablating the diagnostic hole to produce Au plasma and the other simulates the penetrability of a parallel light beam passing the plasma from side. With the hohlraum is heated by Shenguang-II lasers. It is found that the region with ρ>0.2 g·cm-3 plays a major role in radiation shield. The penetrability given under condition is 0.72
