Method of forming a corrosion-preventing oxidic protective layer on steels, especially maraging steels
Description
The invention concerns a method of producing a corrosion-preventing oxidic protective layer on steels, especially maraging steels. The cleaned steel surfaces are first heated up to at least 2000C in an atmosphere of air and oxygen. This is followed by treatment with superheated steam at a temperature between 4500 and 5200C under turbulent flow conditions. In this way a firmly adhering homogeneous protective film of mixed oxides is formed. One type of example is described. (GSCH)

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung einer korrosionsverhuetenden oxidischen Schutzschicht auf Staehlen, insbesondere Maraging-Staehlen. Die gesaeuberten Stahloberflaechen werden zunaechst in einer Luft- und Sauerstoffatmosphaere auf mindestens 2000C aufgeheizt. Sodann erfolgt bei einer Temperatur zwischen 4500 bis 5200C eine Behandlung mit ueberhitztem Wasserdampf unter moeglichst turbulenten Stroemungsbedingungen. Dadurch bildet sich eine festhaftende homogene Schutzschicht aus Mischoxiden. Ein Ausfuehrungsbeispiel wird beschrieben. (GSCH)Files
