Study on the uranium uptake in algae by combined x-ray microanalysis and laser microprobe mass analysis
- 1. Kernforschungsanlage Juelich G.m.b.H. (Germany, F.R.)
Description
Uranium uptake in algae was studied with dunaliella salina by energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDAX) and laser microprobe mass analysis (LAMMA). Uranium in the form of inclusions was confirmed after cultivation of the cells for 4 days in sea water containing 100 ppm Na4[UO2(CO3)3]. Coexistence of some other elements including P in the form of phosphate species were also shown in the inclusions. (author)
