Phase analysis of Al-Ni-V system alloys use of anodic polarization curve parameters
- 1. Voronezhskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)
Description
It was established that the nickel and vanadium aluminides present in alloys in the range NiAl3-VAl3 and Ni2Al3-V5Al8 differ considerably in their electrochemical properties and that each phase accordingly has its own active dissolution region with specific passivation potential and limiting current on the anode polarization curves for alloys in 0.1-N NaOH. It is shown that the rate of dissolution of the phases is directly proportional to their content in the alloys. It is proposed to use this dependence for determining the phase composition of alloys.
