Interaction of nickel-chromium alloys with molybdenum during diffusion welding

Description

The interaction of nickel-chromium alloys, with the chromium mass percentage up to 50%, with molybdenum during diffusion welding and further thermal treatment at 1425 K is studied. Parameters of the welding conditions are determined, when joints of nickel with molybdenum, free from intermetallics, are provided due to nickel alloying with chromium. It is established that in the process of the component interaction different intermetallic phases of the nickel-chromium-molybdenum system are being formed on the joint surface. The growth rate of the intermetallic interlayer thickness is maximum in case of a two-phase alloy and practically doesn't depend on the chromium content in the initial nickel-chromium solid solution. However, with the increase in the chromium mass percentage above 17.8%, a ternary phase, rho, is formed instead of the intermetallic compound of the molybdenum-nickel system
