Description
In alkali chlorides doped with I- or Br- atomic hydrogen can be trapped in an interstitial configuration where one of the four Cl- neighbours is replaced by I- or Br-. These Hsub(i)0-centres in 'mixed configuration' have several absorption bands in the near UV region. The optical bands are due to charge transfer transitions which is shown by magnetooptical experiments as well as by a simple theoretical model. (author)
