Is cystic mesenchymal hamartoma of the liver similar to infantile hemangioendothelioma and cavernous hemangioma on dynamic computed tomography?

Dynamic incremental contrast CT of a cystic mesenchymal hamartoma of the liver in a 10 year old boy demonstrated peripheral and septae enhancement with partial centripetal fill-in during the next sixty minutes, not unlike that which occurs in hemangioendothelioma and hemangioma. Histologic similarities among these mesenchymal lesions may explain the similar CT and angiographic characteristics of such malformations. (orig.)
