Description
In December 1957, DEMAG AG and the North American Aviation/Atomics International Division signed a foundation agreement of their common subsidiary INTERATOM. So this was the first enterprise in the Federal Republic of Germany to promote peaceful use of nuclear energy with international participation. Now that over 25 years have gone by, INTERATOM has become a company for plant design and engineering, working very successfully, and it is a 100% subsidiary of Kraftwerk Union AG incorporated in the Siemens group of companies. Worldwide projects, often pioneering new technologies prove its efficiency. INTERATOM's range of products is no longer limited to nuclear technologies, for experience gained from nuclear technology is purposefully used for other fields of application. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die DEMAG AG und die North American Aviation/Atomics International Division unterzeichneten im Dezember 1957 das Gruendungsabkommen des gemeinsamen Tochterunternehmens INTERATOM. Es war somit das erste Unternehmen, das mit internationaler Beteiligung in Deutschland die friedliche Nutzung der Kernenergie vorantreiben sollte. Heute, mehr als 25 Jahre spaeter, ist INTERATOM ein erfolgreiches Anlagenbau- und Ingenieurunternehmen, das als 100%ige Tochter der Kraftwerk Union AG in den Siemens-Konzern eingebunden ist. Weltweite Projekte, haeufig Wegbereiter fuer neue Technologien, zeugen von seiner Leistungsfaehigkeit. Dabei ist die Produktpalette der INTERATOM laengst nicht mehr auf die Kerntechnik beschraenkt, denn die kerntechnischen Erfahrungen werden konsequent auf andere Anwendungsbereiche uebertragen.
