Post-Irradiation Examination of Thermocouple Sheaths Exposed in the Dragon Reactor Experiment
Description
As part of the collaborative work undertaken with the Dragon Project, - austenitic steel thermocouple sheaths have been examined after exposure in the Dragon Reactor for either ∼ 1400h at temperatures of up to 1280°C or for 20 - 30,000h at ∼ 700°C. The results of this examination are presented. It is shown that the reaction rate for type 321 steel in the reactor environment is lower than indicated by early loop experiments. (author)
