Activity in physics of nuclear reactors
Description
At the Nuclear Research Institute (UJV) in Rez, the neutron-physical parameters of WWER type reactor cores are examined on the LR-0 research reactor, using shortened fuel assemblies for WWER-1000 or WWER-440 type reactors. Experiments are performed with fuel elements containing gadolinium. The problems addressed recently included the assessment of the pressure vessel neutron exposure, spent nuclear fuel storage, and space kinetics; these were examined experimentally. The experimental program was supplemented with theoretical work, including the generation of multigroup cross section libraries, calculation of microparameters and condensed four-group constants, macroscopic calculations, Monte Carlo calculations, and special calculations.
