Kinetics and mechanism of the catalysis by Ru(IV) of the oxidation of toluene by Cr(VI) in aqueous solution

Description
The authors have studied the products and kinetics of the oxidation by the system Cr(VI)-Ru(IV)-Cl--H2O of toluene, chlorotoluenes, and their deuterated derivatives. A mechanism is considered which includes intermediate σ-complexes and ion-radical pairs
